super tudric pewter enamelled napkin ring archibald knox 0919
a really nice example of an art nouveau D shaped enamelled pewter napkin ring, it was produced in the art nouveau jugendstil secessionist era of around 1900 at the same time as the german firms of wmf,kayserzinn and orivit were producing similar pieces of art nouveau pewter, made by William haselers of Birmingham for the liberty & co tudric pewter ware range,fully marked to the base with the design number 0163 dating to around 1902 and easily recognisable as coming from the iconic designs of archibald knox,but this example carries the back stamp made by liberty & co plus the design number 0919 dating it to around 1907,the pewter is a polished condition with no loss of definition to the wonderful knox honesty & entrelac design but apart from the rare mark what sets this apart is the addition of two lovely enamel on copper "eyes" (making it look like an insect or alien)which are both in good condition with no flakes or chips,over all condition should be considered as excellent,it measures 2" across,if you require any further information,please send an e-mail and I will get back to you.
