This is a good quality copy of the famous bust of Queen Nefertiti that is on show in a Berlin museum although the Egyptians are trying to get it returned to their country. The bust is one of the most copied works from Ancient Egypt and was originally sculpted by Thutmose in around 1345 BC but wasn't discovered until 1912. Even if you've never seen the bust in real life, this is a nice memento.
The original artwork was carved out of limestone but this pendant is made from a more resilient (and easier to wear!) metal alloy. It comes in a choice of colours: gold (close to the original) or silver.
The name Nefertiti means "the beautiful one has come forth" and you can see her beauty in this pendant. Queen Nefertiti is one of the most famous women of the ancient world and is an icon of feminine beauty.
The pendant measures about 40mm tall. Including the metal chain it weighs about 4 grams. The adjustable chain is approximately 45cm long.
It's a great necklace for any lover of Ancient Egypt and the power that their queens possessed.
