a beautiful early silver & enamel tea spoon by Archibald knox for liberty & co,it is wonderfully enhanced by delicate enamelling,it is so typical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period, it is of superb quality and would have been sold through the liberty & co store in londons regent street as part of the cymric range, there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era, amongst those the most notable were, jessie m king, murrle bennett, charles horner and james fenton.it would have been produced by haselers of birmingham, these were the only silversmith making for libertys and produced the cymric silver ware range plus the tudric pewter range also,it is a very rare and desirable piece it measures a tad under 4.5" in length so a nice size there is slight wear to the tip of the bowl, it has assay office marks for birmingham date letter Z for 1924 plus the distinctive l&co punch for the maker, this is a genuine piece and should not be confused with the unmarked reproduction pieces that appear on ebay
