Item:293201132394Wood 8 Day French Mantle Clock With Countwheel Escapement By Farret Of ParisA very well made french 8 day countwheel escapement mantle clock. The dial is enamel and has some hairline cracks, but has the same name as on the back of the movement 'Lewis & son, Brighton'. The dial has great original hands. The bezel is good with thick bevelled glass, all good. The back of the bell striking movement has the name 'Lewis & son, Brighton' etched in script, and 'Farret of Paris' along with the makers stamp of 'Vincenti'.The movements two springs are good and fully wound and is ticking away well with no pendulum on it but not tested for accuracy. When the hands are manually rotated it strikes as it should. A pendulum and key are included. Measures 9.5in tall 11in wide x 5.5in deep. The ebonised wooden case is in very nice condition but would clamping at a joint see pic.Nice wooden mantle clock that is sold as seen, not working, for restoration with no guarantees or returns (please see photos as it forms part of the description).
