Vintage Wooden Pistol Case Late 19th early 20th Century - Cogswell & Harrison Please see the pictures - this is a vintage wooden case which I believe is to hold a small pistol that would date to the late 19th or early 20th century. The case is made of wood and it measures 14" x 7 1/2" x 2 3/4" the inside is light blue baize lined, it is in very clean and undamaged condition. I have measures the aperture where the weapon sits and it has maximum dimensions of 12" x 4 1/2". Vacant brass plaque on the top of the case which could be engraved for presentation purposes. Often these cases and the contents get separated and the cases thrown away. I have noted that replicas of these boxes are available but they are very expensive. The wood looks like a mid/dark brown hardwood which could be a mahogany of some sort. Nice quality brass hinges and brass closures. I note that there is one of the brass closures missing but this should be easy to replace. Any questions please ask BEFORE you bid of purchase - Thank You.
