Antique c1940’s English “Smiths” Bakelite Cased Chiming Mantel Clock (Working).

This is a a ntique c1940’s English “Smiths” chiming mantel clock . This is in full working order. The clock is made from bakelite which has a brown marbleised patination with a glossy shine. The bakelite shows several signs of damages and previous repairs. But this does not effect the structural integrity of the case in any way. The face is circular in shape with a silver coloured metal chapter ring, light gold coloured numerals and black coloured hands. The face is protected by a circular convex glass door with a brass bezel. The glass is in excellent condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. To the rear is the door to the mechanism chamber. The door is intact and also in excellent condition. This comes complete with its pendulum and key. The clock was cleaned and serviced on the 19th March 2024.
