A red glass oil lamp sitting on a cast iron base decorated in leaves and berries. The wick winder is marked "BRITISH MADE 1" WICK". I believe the burner will date to the 1st half of the 20th century. It has a 1" slip burner that will require a bulge slip chimney (2 1/16" fitter) that normally come in a short (7") or long (10 3/8"), the long one is probably the better fit for this lamp but I do have a short one now listed. The font to base fitting is the smaller No 7 size (21mm). The burner collar is 31mm ( 1 1/4"). The 1" wick as shown is included. I have included a number of photos and these probably describe the item better than I can and form part of the description. Everyone has different considerations when purchasing items and if you need any further information, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help.

Condition: The font is in a good used condition, free of chips and cracks, there are some light scratches noticeable on close inspection and touch. Some small stubborn marks remain both internally and externally. Manufacturing flaws including air bubbles. The brass work is unpolished. The cast iron base is a little dull and dusty with some pitting/surface corrosion on one side. The burner is unpolished but in good working order with smooth working wick winder. The top of the dome is a little flattened. Please see photos.
Size: Total height 30cm (12"), base 13.8cm (approx 5.5") square. 1420grams. Please feel free to ask any questions but please please ask through Ebay. Unfortunately, selling on Ebay generates a lot of spam and dubious emails and I now only respond to questions placed directly through Ebay. I will try to answer questions as soon as possible, but this will normally be in the evening. There are times where I may not be able to reply within 24 hours but I will reply well before the listing ends. Postage
I am always happy to combine postage but please contact me before paying to arrange the most suitable method. Unless I am offering free postage I tend to charge P&P at Cost plus 15-20% to cover packaging materials & other charges. Items under 1kg and fit into a box 35x25x16cm or 45x32x8cm will be sent by Royal Mail for which I will be charging £3.40. Larger or heavier items will be sent by courier. Up to 1kg £3.50, up to 2kg £4.70 , up to 5kg £6.50 and up to 10kg £9 (there are some exceptions to this for large items). If the items have a value of over £50 and upto £100 an additional £2.22 may be added for insurance and signature. There may also be a surcharge for delivery to the Islands and Highlands. I will still happily send an item by any of the Royal Mail services if you prefer (Standard,Confirmed,Special Delivery) so please just let me know and I will provide a quote. I am always happy for collection in person or for a buyer to arrange their own courier which may be cheaper for the winning bidder. Hermes is preferred for UK collection as we have an exceptionally good delivery man. International items under 2kg will still be sent via Royal Mail, in fact it is now cheaper to send some items to Australia than it is to the UK when using Royal Mail. I will quite happily post most items overseas but if I have not already provided international prices please ask me for postage costs before bidding. I will not post to Italy, Some of the Middle East, South America or Africa (Except South Africa). International items sent by courier will require a contact telephone number.
If quoted economy international postage to Ireland or Germany will be via Hermes who offer competitive  tracked rates for these countries. Packing I pack to ensure the item arrives with you undamaged. If you have specific packing instructions please contact me before paying as this may have an impact on the price as both an increase in weight or size can increase the cost of delivery. I do try to recycle boxes and other materials wherever possible and will sometimes use newspaper for padding out, if it does not have any impact on the cost of postage.
