Here we have a large, traditionally made, panel-stitched maritime flag from the 1940s or possibly the 50s measures an approx 146cm x 110cm.
It's in good, vintage, used condition. There are some holes in the fabric, some light fraying at one corner of the fly end and some historic repairs. Typical of the 'make do and mend' attitude of the time. See photos.
Multi-part construction, in heavy flag cotton/linen, stitched at the panels, triple stitched on the hem and with strengthened corners. It comes with its original hessian rope so ready to display. Ideal also as a theatre or film prop.
This was a signal flag for letter “C”.
