This is a very pretty vintage filigree brass and enamel painted roses standing picture frame.
I would estimate it dates circa 1930s or 1940s.
Overall it measures 15 3/8 inches high by 12 3/8 inches wide (39 cm x 31.4 cm). It will hold a photo or print measuring 15 inches high by 12 inches wide (38.1 cm x 30.5 cm).
The frame is in remarkably good condition. It has some scattered tarnishing along the bottom, but this just tends to blend in. For some reason, the background paper you see in the photos is smaller than the frame itself. You can either put another piece in if you want to use just the center for your artwork, or you can have your artwork take up the entire space.
It has its original glass, though there is chipping going around the outer edges. This does not show though when the frame is put together.
The stand is in very good condition, though there are scattered indentations on the velvet. It’s probably not a big deal though. The back of the stand and the back of the “decorative“ piece of paper both have dried out staining from what was probably mold from when someone cleaned the frame and water dripped behind. You can see that it is very old and does not affect the frame at all. Just pointing it out!
It weighs a little over 2 lbs. 14 oz. (1.314 kg).
It has what I always look for in frames, that wonderful old world look!
