For offer, a late Victorian, Silver Plated Sprit kettle, Stand & Burner, manufactured by the firm of James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield, England, circa 1890s, as the firm became a limited company in 1897.
Makers mark and design number to the underside.
Height is 11 1/4" (28.5cm) when mounted on its original stand.
In very good condition, with some signs of usage, but no plate loss, clean interior.

The firm was established in 1865 by James Deakin at Sidney Works, MatildaStreet, Sheffield.
In 1886 he was joined in partnership by his three sons,William, John and Albert and the name of the firm was changed to James Deakin& Sons.
In 1888 they opened London offices and showrooms at 48Holborn Viaduct. Other branches were opened at Glasgow and Belfast.
In 1897 the firm was converted to James Deakin & SonsLtd. Trade marks used: AZTEC, BRISBANE SILVER, PURITAN, REVLIS, SARBON, SHAW &FISHER, SIDNEY SILVER.
The figural trade mark (table bell) was used from 1871.
