The silver was assayed in London as shown in the pictures, date letter for 1890and makers mark for Ebenezer Newman & Co, Leonard Street London 1886 to 1920.The hallmarks are really rubbed but you can just make them out with a glass.Really unusual decoration to the ball pommel top.It measures 92.5 cm 36 1/2 inches in length, the pommel is 4.2 cm 1 5/8 inches wideand 5.7 cm 2 1/4 inches long including the ball and collar. The ferrule is original and made of brass. It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. Some marks and surface dinks to the silver as shown but no holes or repairs.Very slight bow in the shaft which isn't unusual for Malacca.Please contact us with any questions you may have.
