Item:293184582222Very Rare 2 Ball Antique Torsion Clock A very rare five pillar 2 ball Torsion clock. Not had this model before which was constructed in Germany by 'Jahresuhrenfabrik' around 1910. A very interesting early clock with its original glass dome which rings well (Long scratch from the bottom, possibly a crack? hard to tell, some minor edging nibbles see photos). The case is otherwise in very nice original shape, just needs a good clean and polish to get rid of some minor blemishes. Great original 2 ball pendulum which is very well made. Under where the pendulum hangs is a hump which is a very unusual design feature. The dial looks like celluloid (some minor lines on it) and the hands are present and good. The movement is signed with 'D.R.G.M 588490' and the back door and suspension are present. The spring is good and when the pendulum is fitted it sporadically the hands spins then stops ?Needs setting ??. So this item is sold as seen not working for restoration/parts. I'm confident that there is little wrong with this clock and might just need setting up and adjusting? This delightful old Torsion clock is very different from the standard versions I have had before. The movement looks clean and would have probably run for 30 days originally? Measures 11in tall x 5.5in in diameter at the base. Great original and unusual piece that is sold as seen with no guarantees or returns for restoration. Please note that no courier will insure glass domes for clocks like this, consequently although this item will be extremely well packed (see feedback), it is sent at the buyers risk only.
