Seller: Top-Rated Seller classictime2015 (3.440) 100%, Location: Stonehouse, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 392124148651 This clock is an absolutely stunning extremely rare french red shell and brass boulle inlaid mantel clock which is of the highest quality, it has its absolutely amazing look to it all in amazing condition for age with superb boulle inlays decorating the whole of the red shell case, the clock is in full working order with the movement being stamped with the very well known clock makers Japy Freres Case is constructed from red shell which has a absolutely beautiful patina, colour and finish to it with stunning intricate brass boulle inlays decorating the case, the clock also has various high quality solid bronze ormolu mounts going around the case which are all in excellent condition On the front of the case their is also a blue shell and brass inlaid panel which is actually all inlaid into the case itself and has a bronze mount around it giving the impression of 2 panels The case has a ebonised hinged back door which protects the movement and a glazed hinged brass bezel to front which protects the porcelain and bronze dial The case is in excellent condition for age as im sure you would agree after looking at the pictures. The finish to the red shell case is amazing with a stunning sheen and patina to it as i am sure you can see from the pictures with only very minimal age discrepencies as you can only expect The fine brass boulle inlays decorating the whole case are of the highest quality and really stand out when on display, the clock has an unusual bracket clock style case shape unlike the classic rococo design you get with most boulle clocks but in my eyes this is much more impressive It has a quality embossed bronze and porcelain cartouche dial with blue roman numerals and original hands, the dial is in excellent condition protected by its bevelled glass hinged bezel, the numerals 2 has a nic to the porcelain cartouche as you can see in the pictures but is hardly noticable when on display The clock has an 8 day french bell striking movement with an anchor escapement, the movement is in full working order keeping good time and striking the bell exactly how it should and comes with its original french pendulum and a winding key The mechanism comes with a 6 month return to base warranty for extra piece of mind, please see the terms and conditions below The clock measures 14 inches high x 8.25 inches wide x 5 inches deep This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece and an extremely stunning brass & red shell boulle mantle clock which i am sure you would agree.
