I am offering the clock requiring restoration as detailed below. The clock has a FOUR train mechanism with verge escapement and striking on two bells (one bell missing). The repousse work case with silver plated finish; finely engraved silvered chapter ring; central alarm disc; false pendulum apperture and two subsidiary dials - for repeat and strike actions. As you will see in the pictures the mechanism is dirty with some surface oxidation to some of the iron parts, especially the levers on the front plate. The strike and quarter strike are both working of a fashion but their function will be dramatically improved after the levers are cleaned up. The time side train has verge escapement and currently the mainspring only winds a short way before slipping but sufficient enough to see the gearing tripping properly. The end of the fixed pendulum has snapped off but is present as pictured. To the back of the mechanism are four empty holes - two below the time-side spring and one each below the two other springs. I imagine these holes would have taken bolts for straps to fix the mechanism within a protective cover or possibly feet so it stands like a strut/easel type clock. Other lost parts include one of the bells; the hammer for the alarm train; the false pendulum to be seen through the front apperture and pointers for the subsidiary dials, none of which should pose too much difficulty for the restorer to acquire. The clock is presented for sale with a realistic start price but one well below the value of such a clock when it is restored. There is no other reserve and the highest bidder will win this incredible clock and take great pleasure from restoring it. Weighs 2.9kg before wrapping. Stands 9.25" (23cm) high. The front is approximately 11.5" (29cm) wide and 13.25" (34cm) lomg. The dial around 5.75" (14.5) diameter. Please have a good look at the pictures and message me should you require more information.
