Item:295660796103TRUE VINTAGE 60's 70's JOHN CHARLES TURQUOISE CHIFFON ANGEL CAPE MAXI DRESS 10 8. John Charles, London1960's/1970's Chiffon Occasion Maxi Dress True Vintage 10 UK (NB. ...measures more a modern 6/8 UK..please see measurements below). Beautifully floaty, diaphanous, angel sleeved, empire line, chiffon maxi dress, in a lovely pale turquoise/aqua/sky blue shade. Just gorgeous! With optional matching little chiffon cape (...still with the cotton loop inside the dress, for safe storage), which fastens with a small metal popper, but is designed to appear as though fastened by the little fixed fabric bow. I believe this is a 1960's/1970's design...yet quite timeless, for many a special occasion... or just for fun worn at a festival! Chiffon - 100% Polyester Full Lining - 100% Viscose *Please note: I am yet to dry clean this wonderful dress, and do feel it will perhaps benefit from a good freshen up. It has no immediately apparent marks to the chiffon, but the *underskirt has some light marks* on closer inspection, to the petticoat hemline, which may lift through dry cleaning. Nothing particularly noteworthy, just the expected very slight signs of wear, due to it being such a long length ... swishing across the dance floors,no doubt! (I am of fairly average height, and it would be a true maxi on me, at 55" in length). The chiffon outer seems to have less sign of wear than the underskirt though, luckily, I note. Although I totally missed them at first...on photographing the dress, I noticed some teeny threads to the front, around the waistline, where I think there was perhaps a matching corsage, ribbon, or similar, since removed. It does not appear to be a repair, but rather a remnant of a previously attached addition to the design. The care label suggests to, 'remove trimmings before cleaning'; which also suggests there was an additional accessory, to the front, at the waistline, perhaps. Fully lined, with a fairly soft viscose underskirt. Concealed zip & metal poppers, through cotton thread, to fasten up the bodice at the back Measurements - Underarm to underarm, approx. 16" Empire waistline, approx. 12.25" across Length, nape to hem, approx. 55" I may try for some sharper photos, when the sunshine returns. I'm afraid my device is not always the best at portraying colours in low lighting. The gorgeous shade is best described as pale turquoise, I would say... very flattering for most skin tones, I'm sure. To be sent by Royal Mail, Signed for. 100% Feedback. Thank you for looking.
