Seller: timerunner56 (949) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 293202302885 Top Quality Bronze & Ormolu French Bell Striking Mantle ClockA top quality clock by top French maker 'Levy Freres of Paris'. The clock has a great two tone case, mostly chocolate brown with two gilded bronze/ormolu (not spelter) sides with beautifully hand painted plaques with young ladies in 18/19th century dress. The large plaque at the front depicts two country ladies with baskets of flowers and playing the mandolin, all of which are of a very high quality. The dial is white enamel in good shape (hairline crack which is hard to see) with blue numbers and signed 'Levy Freres Paris' which is also seen on the movement so they are original to each other. The case has two cherubs one has a tambourine and I think the other may have had a triangle (missing) originally. Most clocks have four feet while this one has five, with scrolls to the front and could have possibly had more originally? The front and rear bezels/doors are nice with good glass. The 8 day movement has a stamp for 'Vincenti' and has a countwheel escapement. This movement strikes on a bell and has its key and also a pendulum, possibly not the original? The clock is ticking away but is sold as seen not working for parts/restoration with no guarantee. An original and high quality piece measuring 13in wide x 13in tall 4.5in deep.Postal costs refer to UK mainland addressesHappy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
