Ideally, holy basil is grown indoors and can be planted all year round in pots of well draining general purpose compost.
Thai holy basil is a tender herb and prefers daytime temperatures of around 25 degrees C but can withstand night-time temperatures of 10 degrees C and above.
Therefore, the herb must be planted after the first frost of the year (April on-wards) and takes 80 days to flower.
Once established the herb requires very little care and enjoys direct sunlight. A general purpose fertilizer should be used.
