3. Combat Use Tourniquets are one of the simplest ways to stop blood flow from a limb in an emergency and are now a common problem with most troops on active duty.

4. Combat Application Tourniquets uses a windlass system with a free-moving inner band to apply true circumferential pressure to the limb.

5. Once the windlass is tightened and the bleeding has stopped, it is locked.

6. Velcro is then applied to further secure the windlass during casualty evacuation.
