This is an incredibly special and rare set of menu holders from the Edwardian era, crafted by Birmingham's Grey & Co. 1909. These antique menu holders are made of solid silver and feature a beautiful game birds theme. The intricate pattern and style of these menu holders reflect the craftsmanship of the era. They are a perfect addition to any antique collection and are bound to be a talking point at any dinner party.

AN EXTREMELY RARE SET OF FOUR EDWARDIAN HALLMARKED SILVER MENU HOLDERS FEATURING HAND PAINTED WATER COLOUR GAME BIRDS MOUNTED BEHIND GLASS, EACH WITH A TRIPOD BASE SUPPORTING THE GLASS MOUNTED SILVER HOLDER. EACH OF THE EDWARDIAN PIECES ARE FULLY HALLMARKED TWICE WITH DATE. THEY ARE ALL MARKED WITH CHESTER 1909. ALL THREE ARE STAMPED WITH THE MATCHING REGISTRATION NO. OF 473072 AND THE MAKER'S NAME OF GREY & CO. THEY MEASURE APPROXIMATELY 4.5 CM IN HEIGHT AND 4 CM IN DIAMETER AND ALL THREE COME IN VERY GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION WITH NO RESTORATION OR REPAIRS AND NO DAMAGE TO THE GLASS BUT DO JUST HAVE SOME NORMAL AGE RELATED WEAR.

I have added a presentation box but this works if left open on a table or display cabinet but will not shut with holders inside. But I think they look superb displayed this way as per picture 1.

These are a much rarer version than most versions as they take twice as long to manufacture and were far more expensive when originally purchased and hardly any were manufactured.

This would make a stunning present / gift or indulgent treat.

fully marked with the assay marks for Birmingham date letter k for 1909 plus the distinctive stamp for the maker Grey & co
