Seller: timerunner56 (991) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB, Item: 293387408232 Stunning Quality 9 Bell Triple Fusee Gothic Bracket Clock Superb quality 9 bell English bracket clock in a lovely Gothic honey oak case. It chimes the hours on a large bell and half past, quarter past and to each hour on the other eight. The Gothic style case has two barley twist pillars and has a very nice patina (some old paint splatter which can be easily removed). There is also some paint to the matching wall bracket where it met the wall. This clock has glazed side windows and front door/bezel. The back door has a very fine decorative mesh (slight curvature) but no key. Beautifully detailed carving in a Gothic style replicated in architecture at the time. The case is supported by bun feet and is topped by equally detailed carved finials. It is extremely unusual for this type of clock to have retained its original wall bracket. This would have been an extremely expensive clock when new 150 years ago, well beyond most people's pockets. This top quality triple fusee movement is very large and heavy and remarkably, still on its chains, most have been replaced by a gut. Another sign of its considerable quality is the presence of six pillars and not the usual four. The movement is nice and clean and the 9 bells all sound excellent. This fabulous old clock also has a pull repeat cord along with an adjuster to select strike/silent. The dial is a little faded and has a name which is hard to see but gives the location as 'Bath'. The dial has also retained its three finely detailed hands. The movement is not signed but is numbered '4509' and comes with its original regulator pendulum and locking nut. The clock Measures 26in tall and the wall bracket (is 12in tall ). A great original 9 bell bracket clock that is working well and chiming with a deep tone. I don't repair clocks so this clock is sold as seen, with no guarantees or returns. It will be packed securely but in several boxes (case in one, movement in another and the bells, bracket stand in the other etc). Alternatively you are welcome to arrange collection in person. A stunning quality clock which is extremely hard to find in this condition.
