Wonderful 1933 Vintage Singer 99 hand crank sewing machine.

This lovely Singer 99 was built in Elizabethport, New Jersey, USA, in 1933 and is in superb condition for its age. It is mechanically sound, and in perfect working order. With its all- metal construction it should carry on indefinitely, there aren’t any nasty plastic cogs to snap off!! It is driven by a smooth action hand crank which gives precise control when sewing. It sits in a lovely, highly polished base with a Rosewood finish. Judging by the decals it has only had light usage and has been well cared for, accepting that it has a few small chips in the black lacquer. It comes in an extremely tough wooden Singer case, covered in a deep green vinyl material, and reinforced with bronze-effect metal fittings (not rusty), inside is the extension table and accessories drawer, all in excellent condition, allowing for a few small scuff marks as you would expect. The box has certainly done its job in protecting this lovely machine over the years. It would make a superb addition to any home, either as a working machine or as an ornament and talking point with friends. Light enough to transport easily, but packing a mighty punch for such a small machine, it will easily cope with leather and multiple layers of thick material. It has a new needle and bobbin winder tyre. Thoroughly cleaned and lubricated, checked, adjusted and tested by a dedicated enthusiast with a passion for these lovely machines. It is a credit to the talented men and women who built it so many years ago, and I'm hoping it will go to a new home where it will be used and cherished. As part of my after-sales care I will respond to any questions and try to help should you have any problems setting up and using this machine. It has the Singer instruction manual and several accessories, including lubricating oil, spare needles, seam ripper, needle threader etc., contained in a bespoke green cardboard box and the original wooden tray. This is a truly superb example of Singer’s ever popular 99, it operates on the user-friendly horizontal shuttle/bobbin system, very easy to work with and still widely used on modern sewing machines.
