Star Trek 25th anniversarry Chess Set produced by the Franklin Mint for "Star Trek's" 25th anniversary in 1991. This was a standard chess set with themed pieces as follows: Gold Pieces - King: Captain James T. Kirk, Queen: Lt. Uhura, Bishops: Commander Spock and Dr. Leonard McCoy, Knights: Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery Scott and Lt. Hikaru Sulu, Rooks: The USS Enterprise, Pawns: Starfleet Security Officers. Silver Pieces - King: Khan Noonien Singh, Queen: The Romulan Commander, Bishops: A Vian and the Gorgan, Knights: Romulan Officer and Gorn Commander, Rooks: Klingon D7-class Cruiser, Pawns: Klingon Foot Soldiers Each chess piece depicts characters from the Original Series of Star Trek. made from solid pewter and c coated with 24k gold and sterling silver. Each character stands on octagon-shaped crystal plinth the chessmen sizes vary from 40mm pawns up to 60mm kings the bases are 25mm at the widest point The Chess Set Display cabinet was designed by "Andrea Hein" President Paramount Licensing Group and "Stewart Resnick" Chairman (The Franklin Mint) The chess board is beautifully designed with a futuristic space age style and crafted from aluminium ,The playing surface is clear blue double glazed with celestial marking under the play area there is the pieces storaged which lined with black velvet and there are individual niches for each piece. the chess board is 40.6cm or 16" square inches approx, the playing area is 28cm or 11" square inches each square is 33 mm

set is in overall good condition with minor marks. protective plastic top is still in place come with all pieces. some cud use some cleaning as some have tarnished I will leave this upto the buyer should you even want to have them cleaned. offers and viewing welcome!
