Highlights of the silver section include a private collection of early 19th century racing trophies (lots 42-51), several of which still include their original cases, as well as a collection from a Continental Estate including several pieces but the celebrated 18th century English silversmith Paul de Lamerie. The English Furniture section includes an unusual George III mahogany secretaire bookcase est. £15,000-25,000, lot 153 and a George IV rosewood centre table attributed to Gillows, est. £15,000-20,000, lot 194 with boldly carved lions paw feet. The clocks section comprises a selection of long case clocks, as well as a large French Empire ormolu and marble mantle clock, est. £12,000-18,000, lot 297, featuring a finely chased group of Venus and Cupid. Tapestries are represented by pieces that range in size, date, subject and location of manufacture, from early feuilles-de-choux and armorial 16th century tapestries (lots 307, 313 & 314), to a variety of smaller panels and a 19th century portiere. Including some particularly rare 15th century Falconry tapestry panels (lots 315 and 316), a fine 15th century tapestry Antependium, est. 20,000-30,000, lot 306, a Brussels 16th century allegorical mille-fleurs tapestry with metal-threads depicting Charity, est. 80,000-120,000, lot 309. In the ivories section, a massive Hungarian silver-mounted ivory tankard, est. £18,000-25,000, lot 332, must be seen first-hand to appreciate its unusual size of 78cm high. The French and Continental Furniture section includes a highly important French Renaissance Armoire by Hughes Sambin, circa 1580, est. £150,000-200,000, lot 343 which is one of the earliest examples of its type to be made in one piece (rather than two) and its richly carved Mannerist ornament exemplifies its purpose as a 'parade' object reflecting the prestige of its owner. Notable ceramics include a Faenza 'Berettino' ground dish, circa 1525-30, est. £18,000-25,000 and a rare Meissen Italian comedy group of Pantalone and an actress, circa 1745, est. 10,000-15,000 (lot 507). 1 A JAMES I SILVER-GILT WINE CUP, MAKER'S MARK UNIDENTIFIED, LONDON, 1607 21,250 4 CHARLES II SILVER WINE CUP, MAKER'S MARK DR BETWEEN PELLETS AND MULLETS (JACKSON'S, 1989, P. 123, LINE 2 OR 3), LONDON, 1660 10,000 5 A CHARLES II SILVER TWO-HANDLED BOWL, MAKER'S MARK WW, TWO PELLETS AND (?
