The first image in the listing is a combination of the other images to show as much information in the search results.  The number of items that this relates to is defined below in the remainder of the listing.

You are bidding for a nice example of a Victorian Solid Silver Tea Strainer that has full English Hallmarks for the London Assay Office.  This is a large item.

I apologise for the cost of P & P, but to ensure that these arrive safely means the amount of packaging puts this into a tariff for the Royal Mail that is appropriate to protect it (see my feedback about packaging and delivery). Please note that I can combine items bought to reduce the cost of P & P, please see my other listings!

I have provided some high definition images of the item.  These should give you a good overview, but if you require others then please contact me so I can provide these and/or answer any questions.

As seen from the images, this has a "Rococo Style", which is best seen from the images rather than what I could describe in writing.  In terms of the hallmarks, from left to right this has the maker's mark, "T G" for Thomas Glaser.  It then has the sterling lion, the date letter "P" for 1890 and the Assay Office Mark for London.  It has another letter mark "F" in an oval cartouche, but I do not know what that relates to.

This is approximately 18.5cm long.  The tea strainer bowl has a diameter (including the lip) of approximately 6.5cm and a depth of approximately 1.7-2cm.  It has a gross weight of 37g.

Please note that the images form part of the listing description and therefore the condition report.  Please carefully review the images before you bid.   This was part of a job lot and I therefore do not know its history.  As such, as an antique piece, it may not be 100%.  As an antique piece, any buyer should consider that it may not always be perfect as this is being sold second-hand.

Overall for its age this is in good condition.  It has no dints, dents or dings and there is no distortion to the stem.  The only issue is that historically there may have been some damage to where the stem meets the bowl.  However, this has been repaired and it holds firm.  A great collectable for those who collect Victorian silver.

Please review the images and do your own research for your view on the above and make sure you are happy with these before you bid.  It will be assumed that this has been done and you are happy with the details once you have placed a bid.  I consider the images an important part the description, they are taken in high resolution and will give a very good idea about the item in question and hopefully illustrate the condition of the item.   Please see all images to get a good overall impression of condition.

Unless mentioned or shown, does not have its box or original papers.  Any cleaning/repairs required is left to the new owner’s method of choice.  There is a really low start & No Reserve.  Any names/logos/marks mentioned are based on that presented on the item contained within the images of the listing.  This also relates to any precious metals/items as they have not been tested by me.  It will be assumed that you will have undertaken your own research, and that you are happy with the details prior to placing a bid.  Unless evidence has been provided of authenticity, then no guarantee can be given concerning the item(s) within the listing.  Any speculative bid(s) are made at the bidders own risk and we will not be held responsible.

PAYMENTS

International Purchasers - Please note PayPal ONLY

PLEASE NOTE, payment is expected as soon as the listing is finished.  Please contact immediately if you are unable to do so.

If payment is not made immediately then it is expected to be made, latest , in 4 days from when the listing ends.  If payment is not made by that time, then an unpaid case will be opened at the end of the fourth day.  This will give you an additional 4 days in which to pay, according to eBay rules.  If payment is not received within the 8 days of item bid/purchase, without any reasonable/legitimate communications/reasons/agreed arrangement with us, then we will deem that the winning bidder/purchaser has decided not to continue further with the transaction.  As such the unpaid case will be closed.  Buyers should make themselves aware of the consequences of this.  As such, after that period of time has elapsed we reserve the right to cancel the transaction and utilise/relist the item under our discretion.  Please note , that even if an agreement has been made to extend the period in which the buyer can pay, we reserve the right to still open an unpaid item case after the initial 4 days in the event that the agreement cannot be fulfilled.

POSTAGE

It is your decision to bid.  Please make yourself aware and comfortable with postage costs "before" submitting any bid/purchase as this is the minimum P&P cost, which includes the cost of packaging.  We will only ship to the address Registered with eBay.

UK ONLY , a Signed-For Service will always be provided, unless standard delivery is requested by the buyer.  Within these signed for options there will a choice provided for standard or next day delivery that will be detailed in the invoice from which you can make your choice. However, please note that if the item (s) closing price is above the compensation for the signed for service, we reserve the right to only provide the Special Delivery Option.

Please note:  If bidder/purchaser chooses or specifically requires non-insured tracking postal services; or a service that does not fully cover the value of the item then we do not accept responsibility for loss or damage that may occur once posted.

International Purchasers - We can ship using the eBay Global Shipping Programme.  I believe they provide cost of postage within the listing as it appears in your own national eBay website.  They will then automatically invoice you with the total cost of postage in the invoice.  If by chance the GSP functionality does not issue the invoice and we have to do this manually, then a quote will be provided for signed For and/or Tracking.  Due to issues with shipping to addresses outside the UK, this option is the only one available.  Please ensure you are happy with this before bidding.

I have indicated within the details of the listing the period within which this will be shipped.  I look to post 2/3 times a week. If I can ship earlier then I will.  Shipping days are normally: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

COMBINED POSTAGE

Happy to combine shipping if you make additional purchases within the 3 day period!  This 3 day period starts directly from the end of the first purchase.  Details of this will be provided within the invoice, but this will be based on the original quote with the first purchased item.  In combining listings, a small additional charge, usually an additional 50p per additional combined listing, will be added.  It can be expensive to ship heavy / large packages; particularly internationally, and this may need to be reviewed.  If by combining listings this affects size or weight within the cost constraints of Royal Mail, then we reserve the right to suggest an alternative carrier.  Also, we reserve the right to separate the listings in such a way to respond to value related compensation, size and weight to obtain the most appropriate price.

WILL HAPPILY ACCEPT RETURNS

Returns accepted as long as returned within 14 days of dispatch from us.  Returns are made at the cost of the purchaser.  Be aware that it is very important that a signed for and tracked service is used by the purchaser for returns, as we are not responsible for return postal delay or loss.  The item must be returned in the same condition it was sent from us (every item is photographed before shipping to compare if returned).
