Vintage Smiths Bakelite Striking Mantel Clock I think that this clock probably works, you can wind it with the key and everything looks free moving inside BUT there is no pendulum so I am unable to test it. I'd say the clock probably dates from the 1950s as the name on the dial is Smiths Enfield which Smiths began using in 1949.  Please let me know if you'd like any further info/pictures of this item and I'll do my best, and take a look at my other retro items for more bargains

UPDATE - The clock works! I've been given a pendulum so I've tested it and it's ticking away as I type this. However, the chime works a bit too well in so much as it just constantly chimes when wound so that will need repair.
