VINTAGE STERLING SILVER FIGURE OF SWAN & CYGNET CHICK BY "COUNTRY ARTISTS" - BIRMINGHAM HALLMARK You are buying a good sized sterling silver figure of a swan and cygnet chick extremely well crafted by Country Artists, the renowned wildlife silversmiths with studios in Birmingham, UK. This figure is 15.5cm long from beak to tail, up to 9.5cm high, and weighs 540gm. Bears a label on the felt base stating "Hallmarked Sterling Silver, Filled" with the distinct Country Artists "CA" company logo. The silverwork also bears the "CA" logo on the lower right, and has a full English hallmark on top of the tail. The hallmark, which is clear and unrubbed, consists of the silversmith's initials "CA", the anchor for Birmingham, the lion for sterling silver and the date letter capital "U" for 1994. The true-to-life craftsmanship and attention to detail is really superb. The mother swan, which has a gilt beak and black glass eyes, has her wings puffed out to shelter her chick which peeks out from a cosy spot on mum's back. Brilliant featherwork. It has a purple felt base to avoid scratching. No faults whatsoever. Nothing to disappoint the new owner. Tracked, insured and signed-for post and packing in the UK is £8.50.
