Crazy 99p start price - and NO RESERVE...

This lot is for a superb Gents Seiko Automatic Scuba Diver's Watch. The model is the 7002-7000 A1, dating originally from February 1995.

In excellent pre-owned condition, with a custom new 'Snoopy' Dial in an icy White colour, a new matching Chapter Ring, and new custom '7002' Hands.  I've fitted a brand new scratch-resistant Mineral Crystal. The watch also has a new ceramic 'Submariner' Bezel Insert, and a brand new aftermarket Seiko 'Accordion' rubber diver's strap.  This classic Scuba Diver's watch has been professionally Serviced and regulated, and is running beautifully, keeping accurate time.  The large dual-finish steel Case has been expertly polished and rebrushed, and is in excellent condition. The watch also has a 'Quickset' Date window. I've upgraded the luminous treatment to the hands and markers (and the excellent ceramic Bezel Insert is luminous too). I'll also provide a full Seiko instruction manual (in a downloadable/printable PDF file).
Please read on.
Dial/Hands  Customised Seiko Scuba Diver's Dial, in the classic '7002' style,  in a crisp White,  featuring a cheerful representation of the world's coolest Beagle -  in this case, he's adopted his scarf and flying helmet, and is engaged in a to-the-death dogfight with his nemesis, the infamous Red Baron (or that's how it feels, though he's actually perched on top of his doghouse...).
The Dial is signed 'SEIKO, Automatic' to the upper right of centre, WATER 150M RESIST, 17 JEWELS' to the lower right, while 'Made In Japan, 7002 700L R, Lightning Flash Symbol' is printed below six o'clock.  Baton markers instead of numbers, larger at 6 and 9, and a larger inverted Arrowhead at 12, all with an applied luminous finish.   There's a 'Quickset' Date window at 3 o'clock (in the rarer 'White on Black' font). Minute markers run around the raised outer Chapter Ring, which is colour-matched to the dial, and set at an angle, which adds an impression of extra depth to the watch.

The hands are new, Black-trimmed lume-filled steel, in the classic '7002' style - an 'Arrowhead' minute hand, a 'Broadsword' hour hand, while the Seconds hand is a red 'needle' with a lumed circle near the tip.   I've upgraded the luminous treatment on the hands and dial markers, they glow beautifully after exposure to light - the effect won't last all night, but does shine for a decent spell, which is a nice bonus (typical refurbished or aftermarket dials don't generally have much 'lume', if any).
Case Large stainless steel case in excellent condition, with a Highly-polished finish to the sides, and a Satin-brushed finish to the upper surfaces (I've had this expertly polished and rebrushed, and it has come up beautifully - I can't see any obvious marks, though to cover myself there may be some tiny 'hairlines' on the steel finish at worst, but certainly no obvious nicks or scratches). The case edges remain sharp and nicely defined.
Bezel Bidirectional steel Bezel, medium resistance, turns with 60 ratcheted 'clicks', in very good condition. The Bezel has been fitted with a standout new ceramic 'Submariner' Bezel Insert - in a crisp white, printed with elapsed-time markings, and with a very unusual light luminous treatment.
Caseback The screwdown Caseback is in terrific condition, again expertly cleaned and lightly polished, with minimal marks. The manufacturer wording on the caseback is clear and defined, and reads as follows: "Seiko, Stainless Steel, 7002-7000 A1, Scuba Diver's, 522919, A, Lightning Flash symbol" plus the Seiko Wave logo in the centre.

Crown Original screwdown ridged-edge steel crown, offset at the 4 o'clock position, screws down and adjusts perfectly, stem is fine. Cleaned and polished, in very good condition, no apparent marks.
Crystal New scratch resistant Mineral Crystal, in excellent condition, with no marks of any kind (checked under magnification).
Movement Seiko 7002A 17 Jewel Automatic movement. I've had the movement professionally serviced and regulated, and the watch is running strong and true. The Serial Number indicates the original manufacturing date as February 1995. New gaskets have been fitted.
Strap A brand new aftermarket Seiko Z22 'Accordion' ridged rubber Diver's strap has been fitted, with a floating keeper, along with a new brushed steel buckle. I've used 'Fat' Seiko Spring Bars, which are a much better fit for these straps, and help to ensure that the case lug holes don't get worn and loose through excessive movement. Will comfortably fit a wrist size of up to 8.5" (220mm+).  Some standard pictures of the strap as supplied ('click' to enlarge):
Running Condition Running, and keeping excellent time. As well as the Service, I've regulated the movement, and tested it using a professional timing machine. The watch has also been 'bench-tested' twice on an automatic winder, over at least 24 hours each time, and is accurate to better than +/-18 seconds per day max. (anything under 20 seconds a day is excellent for a vintage automatic).
Measurements Width without crown - 42.2mm (46.4mm including crown), Lug to Lug - 45.3mm, depth 13.2mm. Weight total 100 grams.
Other  How cool is this? Snoopy has featured on watches before, perhaps most notably with the Omega Speedmaster 'Moonwatch' series.  The first Omega 'Snoopy Speedmaster' appeared in 1993, but commemorated the early Apollo missions that used the Speedmaster watch (the Lunar Module on Apollo 10 in 1969 was christened 'Snoopy' by the astronauts, as its mission was to 'snoop around' to find a suitable landing spot for the next mission, the first moon landing by Apollo 11). NASA awarded silver 'Snoopy' awards to employees and contractors for efforts in the Apollo missions - in particular the amazing efforts to get the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission safely back to Earth.
The dial I have fitted on this model features a custom design, so you won't find them anywhere else!
It's a terrific Seiko Diver's Automatic watch, in a large 42.2mm, which wears quite proudly on the wrist as it's a shade over 13mm deep. Even though it's on a Seiko-style 'Accordion' rubber Diver's strap, it's a substantial 100 grams, and feels solid and well constructed, with a significant wrist presence. The 17 Jewel Seiko 7002A Automatic movement has been fully serviced and regulated, and is working beautifully, the watch keeps accurate time.
The large dual-finish steel Diver's case has been expertly rebrushed and repolished, and looks excellent.
I've fitted a new ceramic and luminous 'Submariner' Bezel Insert, which is very smart addition, and looks great set against the classic Seiko dial with the custom Snoopy modification. They go together really well, and add to the iconic Scuba Diver's appearance. I've upgraded the luminous treatment to the custom hands and markers, and they glow nicely after exposure to light, and it lasts a little while too.
Though pre-owned, this watch really is in very good condition, with only minimal signs of any use, and has clearly been maintained well.  I'll send the winning bidder a downloadable/printable PDF File with the full Seiko instructions, which will show you how to change the date and maintain the watch etc.
This model is no longer in production, and certainly didn't look like this originally, but I'm sure it will have cost more than my starting price - I'm starting my auction at just 99p, with NO RESERVE - you could get a top Seiko Automatic Scuba Divers watch, fitted with a custom Dial, Hands and Insert, expertly refurbished and professionally Serviced, at a real bargain price!

I've tried to be as accurate as I can in the description of this watch, please read the description and look at the photographs carefully.  You should study the photographs, which I've taken in close up detail - it will be enable you to evaluate the cosmetic condition far more accurately than I can describe it.

UK Buyers - Payment by PayPal, Personal Cheque or Money Order please. Overseas bidders (PayPal only). Tracked, Signed For, Insured Shipping will be £11.55 for Western Europe (Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed), £12.65 for N America, Canada and the rest of the World (Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed where available, otherwise Royal Mail International Signed). Shipping normally takes 3-9 working days to reach you, depending on destination, and subject to Customs procedures. I always aim to dispatch my sold items within one working day of receipt of cleared funds. If payment is received before noon, I will ship same day. Shipping costs will be combined as much as possible for multiple purchases.  I will only ship to a PayPal verified address. Please note I will not ship to China (watches not allowed), Africa, Brazil or Italy.    Any questions, please ask - I have described the item as thoroughly and honestly as possible - but I'll try and help if I can!   Please Note: The majority of watches I sell are pre-owned, or New, but Old Stock. Whilst I go to every effort to describe the watches accurately, you should be aware that should a watch be marked Water Resistant or Waterproof, that was the case when it left the factory, and is not necessarily the case now.  Unless specifically stated, these watches are not fully serviced (though they will have been inspected inside and out).  Unless specifically stated, I offer no guarantees as to the current level of Water Resistance. If the winning bidder requires the watch to be Pressure Tested, I can arrange this for an at-cost fee (£25). Similarly, though I test all watches for accuracy and describe accordingly, this is no guarantee of future performance. Vintage automatic or hand-winding watches are by definition less accurate than their modern quartz counterparts. When purchasing a vintage watch, especially of high value, I would always advise the buyer to have the item inspected by a qualified jeweller, who should be able to identify any issues that I may have missed, and advise on water resistance, or servicing requirements.  Of course, should any issue then come to light, I will do everything possible to assist - as you can see from my 100% Feedback!
