 Welcome to my shop!

A beautiful Sajou cross stitch chart of the fabric that decorates the four poster bed in The Five Queens Bedroom at the Chateau de Chenonceau.

The Five Queens Bedroom is named for the two daughters ( Queen Margot and Elisabeth of France) and three daughters in law ( Mary Queen of Scots, Elizabeth of Austria and Louise of Lorraine) of the infamous Catherine de Medici.

The size of motif is 185 x 130 points, which when sewn on 12 count embroidery linen measures 31 x 22 cm. The pattern is repeatable so can be worked to any size required.

This design is one of several historical charts available for cross stitch that are taken from the textiles of The Chateau de Chenonceau in France.

The charts in these designs can be found in my shop along with other embroidery charts and kits inspired by the designs and histories of Chateau de Chenonceau, Toile du Jouy and of the Bayueux Tapestry.

Some of you will already be collectors of Sajou and be more than aware of this extraordinary French brand. Sajou produce haberdashery items made  in France to the highest standards (in some cases even produced on the original old machinery). Perfect for gifts and collectors, and for those of you unable to resist a quality that is seldom found in todays mass produced haberdashery products.

Sajou was created in 1828 by Jaques- Simon Sajou, selling haberdashery for embroidery, tapestry, lace, crochet and weaving. His pattern albums are sought after to this day by collectors worldwide. In 2005 the Sajou brand was purchased and revived by avid collector; Frederique Crestin- Billet. Many of the old designs have been faithfully reproduced and there are some new designs that have been added in the Sajou style.

I have other Sajou haberdashery items for sale in my shop so please do take the time to have a browse.

My textiles are largely sourced from Scotland, bringing the very best of vintage and antique Scottish heritage textiles for you to enjoy and treasure.
