On offer here is a lovely (circa 195o) stunning Quality Swiss gold lacquered Neuchatel Clock with bracket by Eluxa. Eluxa clocks were hand assembled and the cases were hand painted and signed by the artist. This clock was painted by the artist, S Shutter I. They were very expensive and retailed for around £2000 at today’s prices. I have seen them still being sold for around £1500. This clock has been fully restored, serviced and cleaned by myself. The movement was in poor condition and was not working. I have cleaned and serviced the movement to what I hope you think is a high standard. It is in full working order and keeping very good time. It did require two new mainsprings and a new suspension spring. This clock is an eight day, so therefore should be wound every seven days. It strikes on the half hour and counts the hours at 12, on a lovely sounding bell. The blue coloured case dimensions are 8 ¼” wide by 14 ¾” high by 3 ¾” deep. The matching wall bracket is 9” wide by 5 ¼” high just under 4” deep. This clock can be shelf mounted, of hung on a wall either by itself or on the wall bracket. I think at some time the bracket was left in a draw or cupboard as there are some marks to it. The case has a natural grazing like an old oil painting. The clock dates from around 1950. For a clock around sixty five years old and because of the service it has undergone, now runs and strikes very well. Please do bear in mind that this is an old clock and therefore although in very good condition for its age, there are some imperfections related to this. The case will have age related marks, but in my opinion is in above average condition. As mentioned the bracket does have some minor knocks and I would say is in average condition. The dial is in as new condition and the gold guilt is in very good condition. I have taken great care in cleaning the case and its fitments so as not to ruin the paintings. This clock comes with its original key. As with all my clocks, the buyer will receive my own care sheets so that you will get the most out of the clock. Covering four sheets of A4, these pages cover everything from winding up the clock and adjusting the time, to when to have it serviced. You will receive a TDK C/D with a write up and a 91 photos showing all the work I have done on the movement and case. The care sheets will be on the CD. If you require them printing, please let me know. Please note the following on postage:-I am more than happy to post my clocks to you and they will be packed to the best of my ability. With this in mind and because of the rough handling of our postal services you are more than welcome to pick your clock up from me. In fact I would prefer this, as old clocks do not like being moved around too much.I also offer a delivery and setup service to anywhere within mainland UK. If you pay full price for the clock the delivery is included up to 150 miles from Congleton. If you live further than that, the added cost for delivery is 0.30 per mile return. So the cost of delivery and setup, if you lived 200 miles from me would be £30. I will also give you a twelve month guarantee. You will see the clock running and ask any questions you might have.RememberIf you do decide to pick up the clock from me or have it delivered and setup by myself I will give you a twelve month guarantee. Please have a good look at the photos before buying and email any questions you might have.
