Item:232731320531Here for auction with no reserve and 0.99p start. A large regency inlaid brass bracket clock dating to C1820 requiring restoration. Firstly the 8 day single fusee movement is in working order but needs a pendulum. I have tried it with another pendulum and it works well with a strong tick. The case will need attention but mainly where the old glue has died out and some of the mouldings have come off and need re-gluing back on. There is some cracking to the joints near where the bezel fits in on both sides[ catch and hinge] and some veneer loss but there are some small amounts of veneer included. It looks very complete and there are some brass shaped beading which looks to be from the top front of the case some areas of solder repair. The convex dial retains the original paint and reads Sam Bibbly Birmingham and original steel hands. Convex glass in good order with brass sight ring, side handles, fishscale frets. The back door has the worst damage with veneer loss. It has its L shaped brackets for the movement/case and screws. Standing 23 inches to top of finial[58cm] x 12 ins wide[30cm] x 7 ins deep[17cm]. This would make a great project for someone with a little knowledge of casework. It has a fabulous colour and all brass work is intact. Will send worldwide but please email for shipping costs and any other questions you may have. Sorry I do not send to Russia. P.S. No buy it now price, auction will run to the end.
