Any question about product or price is Welcomed!

In early Meiji era, aftter Meiji Restoration, Japanese government had to earn money from foreign countries, to make strong government against Western countries. But, Japan had not enough natural resources or products to export. Silk was the only product that they could sell. In 1878, Japan had joined to third Paris World's fair to introduce Japanese traditional and original culture all over the world. Because in this time, Japan was very poor and weak country. And they could not buy warship, cannon, and industrial machines etc, especially they needed to construct railways to transfer many things, people and soldiers. Anyway, it was very serious issue how to sell Japanese products. Fortunately, by the Expo in Paris, "Japonism" spread all over the world. So Japan could export traditional craft products. In this time, such products became one of foundations of Japanese economy. These products were very delicate, sensitive, beautiful and all hand-made, so they were very expensive. But, many products were exported to foreign countries. Even Japan did not have natural resources but they could export their own techniques. These craft products were almost exported, not for domestic use in Japan. So, this craft product was once exported to Europa. After 150 years, they returned to Japan. It is quite hard to get or find such product made in Meiji era. Even if they have lack or broken points, such products are exhibited in museum.

It was all hand crafted with Japanese technology of Shippo-yaki (七宝焼き) in English, cloisonne or enamel.
