Item:113904256377Rare late 1800s high quality double fusee striking clock by Potts of Leeds in GWO. Here we have a superb quality Victorian double fusee 12” drop dial clock which has been fully restored to its original working condition. Striking fusee clocks are becoming much more difficult to find nowadays. This high quality English 8-day fusee movement by the famous clockmaker – Potts of Leeds, has been thoroughly rebuilt, overhauled, cleaned, lubricated, and serviced by a professional clock specialist and as the pictures show, is in a truly magnificent antique condition. The painted sign-written dial with period hands together with the double fusee movement, was rescued from the original case which must have been too far gone to repair. The present genuine oak drop-dial case, which was a rare find indeed, was of adequate proportions so as to accommodate the large size of the movement with its superb cast brass bell, and represents something very close to the original item. The bezel and glass were part of the latterly discovered case and show up the black Roman numerals and classic period hands in a truly stunning fashion. The clock strikes the hours on a very pleasant-sounding bell – which emits its really stately mellow sound, more like a longcase clock. Potts of Leeds are well known for having manufactured clocks for many public buildings in their time and many, particularly the larger type, found in elevated turrets. The clock comes complete with key and pendulum. Sizes: Dial diameter 12”, Overall diameter 15.5”, Height 21”, Depth 6”. Don’t miss this opportunity to obtain this truly magnificent classic clock by such a famous high quality clockmaker. Local collection highly recommended due to size and weight of this clock. I will personally deliver to locations up to 50 miles away by prior arrangement.Featured Refinements:Fusee Wall Clock
