"Each GLOBE WERNICKE® Section has a dust proof glass door, cushioned with felt. In operation it swings upwards and retires into a space over the books where it is out of the way. These doors act on roller bearings, and contain our celebrated non-binding and noiseless cushion closing features, making a door simple and easy to operate."......... "The doors are Non-Binding, Dust-Proof, Noiseless and Air-Cushioned- the result of our patented door equalizer-the acme of perfection." Globe Wernicke® Catalog #122 circa 1922

PHOTOS The 1st photo: Shows the mechanism laying flat and opened. The 2nd photo: Shows the dimensions of the mechanism opened. The 3rd photo: Shows the mechanism closed laying flat with the length of the longest side at 29 inches, the shorter end at the standard 24 inches and the rod at 12 7/8". ALSO SHOWN ARE THE CORRECT SCREWS AND EYELETS FOR THE RODS FOR INSTALLATION AT THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS. The 4th photo: Shows the installed rare double rod assembly and is used just for a visual reference only (as it is used on the later model "GENERAL SERIES" GLOBE WERNICKE ® cases). We have those on hand as well. We also have the mechanisms that fit the "C", "D" and "S" series units (see our other eBay ad for those 24 inch standard mechanisms). THE LAST 4 PHOTOS SHOWS THE ENDS IN ALL THEIR PROPER PLACEMENT INSTALLED IN THE DOOR WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE HOOKS AND REAR SCREW BRACKETS. ITEM DESCRIPTION/DETAILS:

RARE GLOBE WERNICKE® & MACEY SCISSOR DOOR MECHANISM HARD TO FIND CLOSURE FOR E, G, H and
41" SERIES CASES.

FOR SALE: 1 (ONE) GLOBE WERNICKE® & MACEY SCISSOR DOOR MECHANISM WITH THE ROD! THESE ARE HARD TO FIND CLOSURE MECHANISMS FOR E, G & H SERIES (and some of the metal AMES era cases as well) Globe Wernicke® & Macey stack bookcases. They facilitate the smooth opening and closing of the doors on these stack sectional barrister lawyer bookcases.  Without these the doors frequently bind and can damage the tracks. If this occurs repeatedly over time it can require a great deal of work to repair. These are in new production and will not require any cleaning. They come with the eyelet attaching pieces for the doors for free if requested AND NOW THE RARE 3/8" LONG SCREWS FOR THE BACKS ! We had to have these screws special made in a #5000 order lot. These are not available anywhere. Screws that are longer than this will puncture the back panels. The original production screws were 3/8" in length as well. This is the only place to get the correct attaching screw hardware as well. While these mechanisms fit easily into the Globe Wernicke® cases they can also be easily adapted to the Macey cases. We have multiple sets of these available to the buyer.

WE HAVE THE SCISSORS FOR ALL GLOBE WERNICKE® DOORS. PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER EBAY ADS.

WE WILL BE PRODUCING DOORS (EXACTING TO EARLY 1900 GLOBE WERNICKE® PRODUCTION DOORS) IN THE NEAR FUTURE. WE WILL BE USING 700+ YEAR OLD WOOD.

We am also offering on eBay at this time for the Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack sectional units:  Aging Solution, Factory Labels, Globe Wernicke® 1915 catalog price list, door closure mechanisms, authentic knobs, side bands, roller bearing assemblies, beveled plate glass door windows, antique flat wavy window glass, door tracts, hook and square door hinges, Globe Wernicke® commercial stack hardware and step back end caps, desk legs and mounting hardware.
