Seller: seacrestdrive (540) 100%, Location: THAMES DITTON SURREY , Ships to: GB, Item: 333305071129 IF YOU PICK UP IN PERSON AND PAY IN CASH OR BANK TRANSFER I WILL ACCEPT £400 Welcome to my auction for an extremely rare and imposing Egyptian Revival clock with a Bronze surmount of a Sphinx - Circa 1860.. These outstanding and high quality clocks are becoming harder and harder to find, particularly of this much sought after size (most of them are so large), which makes these smaller ones more desirable and collectible. This grand and highly ornate clock case is adorned with gold Egyptian Heiroglyphics and green Malakite inserts and a very impressive and imposing Bronze Sphinx that sets this clock off beautifully. - It really is stunning and would grace any room. The malakite inserts shows out more in real life.hard to show it in the photos The black dial with gold Roman Numerals has a green Malachite Centre disc, that is finished with pretty gold hands - this is a quality clock that would have been very expensive in its day.. The case is in good condition, although there are a few nibbles, which one would expect for a clock of this age and some damage to the gold centerpiece of one of the hieroglyphics (please see pictures) at the bottom of the case - this certainly does not detract in any way from this magnificent and grand clock. The French 8 day movement chimes on a bell, with a lovely rich sound that records the number of hours and the half hour. This clock has just been serviced, so is keeping excellent time and i will supply a key POST DESCRIPTION OR PICK UP . I live in Thames Ditton Surrey, which is close to Richmond Park and would prefer pick up as to the fragile nature of this clock, and would appreciate cash please. Please note ---I will post this clock, But i cannot be liable for any damage of the clock either mechanical or damage to any other part of the clock that is caused by the postal system. The reason for this is that the postal service do not insure clocks. The post price reflects from the weight of this clock and also, I always pay extra for the special delivery by 12am the next day after posting . This way the clock does not get handled so much ,and also you will not have to wait in all day for it to arrive. I will pack this clock very carefully and will send photos of my packing to any interested person who wishes to buy and wins the auction., I can say that this clock looks a lot better in real life than the photos portray. And is rare in this shape case with its bronze sphinx and with intricate detail. All these clocks i am selling are from my late husbands collection which he aquired over many years.
