Up for sale is this fabulous antique Cornet, manufactured by the Standard Band Instrument Co, of Boston. They were in business from the 1880's to early 1900's. This is a complete overhaul and restoration project. Note the damage to the bell and several dings and wear shown in the photos, I probably missed a ding or two trying to show some of the great detail work of the horn, the case is missing it's leather and handle, and the wood is splitting on both sides, but maintains its great original hardware. I believe it is the owners name G.J. Reily that has been inscribed on the bell. Judging by the scrollwork and details I imagine this was a higher end horn. I am not a player or collector, so it's hard for me to comment competently on what work this may or may not need, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
