Seller: fairlawnclockworks (1.021) 100%, Location: Elmer Sands, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 273934200347 Hi I have for sale an F.W Elliott Ltd 14" fusee dial clock dated 1941 with the RAF insignia at the top of the dial which I bought from Ford boot fair last weekend.Cleaned all the dust and dead spiders out gave her a service she runs like new. The clock The clock is an RAF mess room clock with a solid Mahogany wood frame and dovetailed back box with the original doors, with the bottom lock the door shuts with the original lock and key present. All that I have done since owning it is to run it, it is in original condition never played with having the painted black solid cast brass bezel. The dial is fading a little it is cream in colour and a bit of yellowing can be seen on the edges and at the centre but still looks really good, a small amount of rust coming though behind the dial legs can be seen it is all held in by the four original pegs to the case. The bezel is cast brass and has the original catches it has been painted black. The case and front glass have spots of white paint on them I have not or will not try to clean off I will leave that to the new owner. The movement is clean I serviced it and it is running really strong , I think this clock has never been messed with since 1941. The movement is signed F.W. Elliott Ltd and has a number this keeps good time over eight days with a pleasing tick and is a fusee chain driven movement the pendulum and key are also present. Overall This clock must be quite rare to retain all the original features pendulum/pegs/bezel/dial a very nice clock that looks great on display and keeps very good time, you are welcome to visit and see the clock while the auction is running and ask any questions you like, the new owner I am sure will love this old piece of history. Also on the back is some stamp marks and some numbers not sure what they mean to be honest. The bezel has a number stamped in as also the case has. Also I will always listen to sensible offers as it is here to sell but I am also happy to keep it so please bid early or I will withdraw if no genuine interest is found as I quite like the clock myself. The clock will be hand delivered or posted which ever the safer and cheaper option is please email for a delivery cost to save posting if you prefer this.
