Pretty Little Miniature Mid to Late 19th Century Solid Brass Scissor Frame French Skeleton Clock with Bell Alarm and Glass Dome Stamped Ms Honorables ExpParis Londres Circa 1860-1870 Needs TLC I bought this clock more than 25 years ago from a dealer in the Portobello Road, which was just in a box without a dome and was filthy dirty. At the time, I bought a replacement dome with every intention of restoring it. Well I had forgotten about all this time until I recently found it buried in the attic. I took it apart and cleaned it in my ultrasonic cleaner. Everything seems to be present excluding the alarm strings, silk suspension and a couple of screws that need replacing, and some other minor attention needed. However, the wheel one down from the escape wheel, someone has made a poor attempt at reattaching the wheel onto the arbour without ensuring it spins central or true. Not me, I promise and I don’t even think the dealer who I bought it from did either. As a result it appears the wheel becomes tight and won’t spin properly. I have never had this running and so I am selling it sold as seen, not working with no guarantee. I think a good couple of days spent on it will sort it all out but as I don’t have access to my lathe which is in storage, I simply do not have time in my present circumstances to mend it. This would be the perfect project for someone wanting to do this for themselves. These normally sell for between £900 and £1,200, so this really is a bargain for the right person Dimensions:Total height including the dome approx 24cmHeight without dome approx 22cmWidth of base approx 15cmDepth of base approx 10cm Any queries please call 07731. 564008 Please remember as with all Antique and secondhand items, please be your own judge About age, condition and description before purchasing as I am not an expert in such things. A bidder recently purchased an item and then moaned about it after the event because he hadn't read the description correctly.
