The vases are fashioned with three sides, from dark wood, which looks to me to be mahogany, and are then covered in embossed and chased pewter, with a depiction of a bold flower on each side. The style of embellishment is not dissimilar to designs I have seen by the Keswick School. Good antique condition. Both vases have a few dings to the pewter, and where it is pinned to the mahogany, the pewter is a little bit rough around the edges. The vases are 156 mm tall. All in all, a very beautiful and usable pair of vases which are over 100 years old. I have not tried to fill them with water, but given that their structure is wood, I would imagine it is ill advised to do so, and that they would be better used to display a dried flower arrangement. Condition: Good antique condition. Both vases have a few dings to the pewter, and where it is pinned to the mahogany, the pewter is a little bit rough around the edges., Age: 1900-1940, Material: Pewter, Type: Vase, Original/Repro: Original
