How to sow indoors: Best results happen when you sow outdoors

How to sow outdoors: Sow outdoors thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (1/2") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 30cm (1') between rows or sow thinly direct into 25cm (10") pots. January to March sowings can be made under cloches or in large pots in a cool greenhouse. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Thin by harvesting young carrots evenly, allowing remainder to grow on. In pots, harvest all roots together when approx. 10cm (4") long. Water well until plants are established. Regular sowings made every three weeks will ensure a continuous supply of young roots.

Hints & Tips: When harvesting, select alternate young carrots from the row, allowing the remainder to develop fully. No other thinning is needed if sown thinly. Keep well watered to prevent the roots splitting. Keep weed free at all times.
