This is a brand new black & white folded map taken from the Ordnance Survey map 198 as revised in 1898. On the reverse is an historic introduction together with a map of Bodenham. Scale is an inch to the mile. A must for the historian, genealogist and anyone interested in the local history of North Herefordshire. DESCRIPTION FROM PUBLISHER This inch to the Mile map, covers much of North Herefordshire. Coverage stretches from Hereford northward to the outskirts of Leominster and from Weobley eastward to Bromyard. This is orchard country and Derrick Pratt notes that by 1790 fifteen varieties of cider apple and six of pears were being gronw within the county by people of all stations and that with it interspersted hopfields the north Herefordshire landscape takes on a unique distinctive appearance. Other features of note include the long closed railways from Leominster to Bromyard and from Hereford to Hay. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps.
