Though obviously far less detailed than the large scale maps for which we are perhaps better known, they provide an invaluable overview of a wider area, typically 18 miles across by 12 miles down. For transport historians they are invaluable for showing old railways, while all historians need them for their close depiction of topography, including parish boundaries This map is a must for the historian, genealogist and anyone interested in the local history of taken from the Ordnance Survey one inch sheet 246. On the reverse is extract from Glamorgan Shet 30.07 covering Rhossili Village and map extract showing Llarhidian Village in detail. Coverage is the western part of the Gower Peninsula, plus a small portion of Glamorgan around Burry Port. Coverage stretches from Worms Head and Burry Holms eastward to Reynoldston, and from Pembrey southward to Port-Eynon Bay.
