STEVE GARTON GENEALOGY - GODFREY EDITION OLD ORDNANCE SURVEY MAPS
RHYL & COLWYN BAY - WALES SHEET 95
This folded map which measures approximately 24" x 18" when unfolded is produced by Alan Godfrey and covers an area of about 18 miles by 12 miles. It shows railways, roads and canals, and gives a broad view of a wider area. It also includes an introduction and a more detailed map of a small town or village.
This map covers the north Wales coast from Little Ormes Head to Prestatyn. On the reverse is a map of the historic town of Rhuddlan. The map is split between Denbighshire and Flintshire, and includes a small detached area of Caernarvonshire. It is not possible to list the many hamlets, farmsteads and other topographical features shown on these maps. However, you may find it useful if we list the towns and principal villages or church parishes that are included on this map. Links are given for those for which detailed large-scale maps are also available.
Caernarvonshire : Llangwstenin, Llysfaen.
Denbighshire : Abergele, Bodelwyddan, Colwyn, Colwyn Bay, Llanddulas, Llandrillo-yn-Rhos, Llanelian-yn-Rhos, St George.
Flintshire : Cwm, Dyserth, Gronant, Gwaenysgor, Meliden, Prestatyn, Rhuddland, Rhyl, Trelawnyd (Newmarket).
It will be posted in a board backed envelope to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.
WE HAVE AN EXTENSIVE CATALOGUE OF CD'S OF OLD DIRECTORIES SUCH AS KELLYS, PIGOTS & WHITES THAT ARE A VALUABLE RESEARCH RESOURCE OF USE TO LOCAL HISTORIANS & GENEALOGISTS. PLEASE VISIT OUR EBAY SHOP TO SEE OUR CURRENT LISTINGS.
NB: We are unable to do searches of maps. We stock almost 3000 maps covering the UK and unfortunately do not have the "local" knowledge of the area concerned and trying to find specific streets etc is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack unless you know where to look. All our maps have descriptions of the area shown so we suggest a bit of research should be able to narrow it down.
