Item:352310734410Manchester Oxford Street 1849 - Lancashire Sheet M 33This folded map which measures approximately 24" x 18" when unfolded is produced by Alan Godfrey from the 5 foot plan and reprinted at a yard to the mile. This extremely detailed map covers a busy area of south central Manchester, with coverage stretching from Byrom Street eastward to David Street, and from Peter Street southward to Cambridge Street. Features include the Gaythorn area, Oxford Street, a stretch of the Manchester South Junction & Altrincham Railway with Oxford Road and Knott Mill stations, Manchester Gas Works, Manchester & Salford Junction Canal, River Medlock, St Matthew's church, Hall of Science, Gt Bridgewater Street Chapel, Free Trade Hall (at top of map), Theatre Royal, Museum for Natural History, The Casino, St Peter's church, Concert Hall, Scotch Church, Dacre Mill, Medlock Street Mill, other mills and dye works, Atlas Iron Works, Chepstow Street Mills, Lower Mosley Street area, Oxford Road Twist Company's Mills, David Street Mills, Little Ireland, Rochdale Canal, etc. On the reverse we include a selection of street directory entries, incl David Street, Deansgate, Dickinson Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Lower Mosley Street, Oxford Street. NB: We are unable to do searches of maps. We stock almost 3000 maps covering the UK and unfortunately do not have the "local" knowledge of the area concerned and trying to find specific streets etc is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack unless you know where to look. All our maps have descriptions of the area shown so we suggest a bit of research should be able to narrow it down.Condition:Brand New, Year:1849, Type:Ordnance Survey Map
