Noritake Rose Bud Handle Bowl Hand Painted Tree House Lake Meadow Gold 1918-1931 Noritake Rose Bud Handle Bowl Hand Painted Tree House Lake Meadow 1918-1931 Gold A beautiful NORITAKE Round HAND PAINTED Scalloped Fluted BOWL Unique 2 FLOWER BUD HANDLES 1918-1931 MEADOW SCENE   Morimura Bros. formed the trading and decorating company in 1876 which evolved into Noritake.  Noritake Company has a rich history of producing porcelain china all the way from  January 1, 1904 when the Nippon Toki Kaisha Ltd - the forerunner to the present Noritake Company - was formed in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya, Japan with its huge kaolin clay sources.  The first reported U.S. registry for a Noritake backstamp for importing is 1911.  The backstamp on this piece is the red M-in-Wreath Mark with Noritake on the top and Hand Painted in a curve on the bottom.  Under that is "Made in Japan".  In Collecting Noritake A to Z Art Deco & More, David Spain shows that Noritake substituted Japan for Nippon in their backstamps starting in 1918.  Spain identifies this mark as #27.1 which was in use from 1918-1931.

This superb quality china has color that is bright and vivid on the high white background.  This is painted on a blank of fine white bone china with gold trim on the edges.  The unique flower bud handles makes this bowl very special.

While this bowl is classified as used, there are no chips, nicks, rubbings, hairlines, or repairs to this stunning bone china.  We can find no rubbing or wear on the gold.  There appears to be absolutely no wear to the vivid color and no crazing.  It pings delightfully when tapped.

The stand was used as a photo prop and is not included in this listing.

The bowl is 5 3/4" tip of the handle to tip of the handle and has a diameter of 4 3/4" at its fluted top.  Its height is 2 3/4" and its sits firmly on a base with a diameter of 2 3/4".

As collectors ourselves, we tend to be very picky and find it necessary to point out anything we see.
