Aniseed essential oil is warm and spicy, and is almost clear in colour.  It is extracted from the seed of the anise plant via steam distillation.  Aniseed essential oil is known as a potent natural remedy and for it's calming effects.  Traditionally it was used to sooth dry and irritating coughs, and it may also support smooth digestion when vaporised.

Amyris essential oil has a soft, woody and sweet aroma and is golden brown in colour. Amyris is naturally occurring essential oil extracted via steam distillation from the wood of the Amyris tree.

Bay Leaf

Not to be confused with Bay Laurel essential oil, Bay Leaf essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the bay tree.  Bay Leaf essential oil possesses a strong, fragrant and spicy aroma with woody and smoky tones reminiscent of clove oil and star anise.  

In aromatherapy the oil is often used to provide relief for everyday aches and pains, and to promote a relaxing effect.  When used in baths and showers, it is known to help with opening the sinuses.

Please be aware the Benzoin is a very thick viscous oil which will require warming in the bottle to loosen the flow of the oil.  Please then remove the cap and the dropper to pour the oil.

Lavandin (Grosso)  

Lavandin essential oils is extracted from via steam distillation from the flowers of the Lavandin plant, which is a close cousin to the Lavender plant but is much larger.  It has a strong, sweet floral scent very similar to that of Lavender. The aroma is a cross between Spike Lavender and traditional English Lavender, with camphorous and herbal notes.

Lime essential oil is created from cold pressing the peel of the lime fruit.  It has a clear, sharp and refreshing aroma and is almost clear in colour.  Lime essential oil has many applications, and is commonly used to avoid feelings of lethargy due to its revitalising properties.  

Lime essential oil is also known as an astringent and commonly used in skincare and to reduce ageing.  As a source of vitamin C it also boosts immune system, and acts as an anti-oxidant.

Mandarin essential oil has a sweet and tangy citrus aroma and is orange in colour.  Mandarin essential oil is extracted by cold pressing the peel of the fruit.  As Mandarin essential oil is mild it is often used to reduce the appearance of scars and stretchmarks.

Marjoram (Sweet)

Marjoram (Sweet) oil has a warm, spicy comforting aroma, that is sweeter than the alternative wild marjoram variety.  It is pale yellow in colour and is extracted from the leaves and flowers via steam distillation.  

Sweet marjoram essential oil is often used to relieve pain from aching muscles and is therefore often diluted and used in sports massage.  It is also commonly used to relieve menstrual pains and promote good health in general, as well as calming the nerves.

Wild (also known as Spanish) Marjoram essential oil has a warm, herbaceous aroma that is more medicinal in smell than our Sweet Marjoram variety.  It is pale yellow in colour and is extracted from the leaves and flowers of the marjoram bush.  Wild Spanish Marjoram essential oil is commonly used to sooth everyday muscular aches and pains. May Chang

May Chang essential oil has a light, sweet, citrus aroma and is pale yellow in colour.  May Chang essential oil is steam distilled from root and stem of the plant, and is prized for its calming and clarifying properties.  As such it is often used as as sleeping aid when vaporised.  It is also used diluted in abdominal massage to relieve discomfort.

Melissa essential oil has a sweet, slightly citrus aroma with herbaceous notes, and is pale yellow in colour.  Melissa essential oil is extracted via steam distillation from the leaf of the Melissa plant, which is actually a member of the mint family. 

The beautiful aroma makes it perfect for creating a relaxing atmosphere, in addition to being perfect for use in soap, cosmetic products and candles.  Melissa oil also has anti-inflammatory properties which make it perfect for diluting and using in massage.  

Pure (Absolute) Melissa oil is extremely expensive. Our Melissa oil possesses similar fragrance and comparable benefits as pure Melissa oil, but has been extracted via a less expensive method.

Myrrh Oil (Thin)

Myrrh (Thin) Essential Oil is reddish in colour is extracted via hydro distillation from the resin of the Myrrh tree.  Myrrh (Thin) essential oil has complex aromatic aroma with notes of earthiness and sweetness simultaneously. Myrrh has a wide range of reported therapeutic benefits. In particular due to the oils’ anti-bacterial properties, it is often used as a natural disinfectant to eliminate bacteria, some parasites and mould.

This type of Myrrh is thinner than normal. Myrrh is usually a very thick, viscous resin and can be very difficult to mix with a carrier oil or remove from the container. This Myrrh has been initially treated with a solvent (food grade) benzyl benzoate to soften the resin and allow the production of a more easily miscible Myrrh. In essence the oil remains the same and retains the same therapeutic values but allowing for a lower viscosity.

Myrtle essential oil has a fresh and clear aroma, and is yellowish-green in colour.  It is extracted via steam distillation from the leaves and twigs of the Myrtle tree.

Neroli essential oil is extracted via steam distillation from the blossom of the Bitter Orange tree.  The aroma is sweet and floral, with notes of citrus.  The scent is delicate, relaxing and calming.  Our Neroli essential oil is commercial grade which is more affordable than the highly prized and extremely expensive Mediterranean Neroli oil.  Commercial Grade Neroli oil is suitable and generally preferred for use in cosmetics, soaps, fragrances and candles due to the lower percentage content of nerol, and nerolidol in particular, as well the more affordable price.

Niaouli

100% pure Niaouli essential oil is extracted from the leaves and twigs of the Paper Bark tree of the Myrtaceae family, and as such is related to the Tea Tree.  This aromatic oil has a fresh, earthy, cleansing scent with sweet notes.  Like Tea Tree, it is mainly used for its therapeutic benefits rather than its aroma. Patchouli (Indonesian - Light) 

Patchouli (Indonesian) essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the herb which are dried and fermented prior to steam distillation. It is dark brown in colour and has an earthy, smokey aroma.  The Indonesian variety (as opposed to the Indian variety) of Patchouli essential oil, is the more commonly known and used form, possessing a more savoury, muskier aroma than it's Indian counterpart.  Patchouli essential oil is known to be effective in helping to combat stress, anxiety, and bouts of depression.  It is also used as an aphrodisiac, and to counteract bad odours, and as such is often used as a natural deodorant.  Other benefits include preventing infection, reducing inflammation, and improving circulation.

Spike Lavender
