This mid 19th century clock is nicely made and shaped. The movement has nicely shaped plates and is still on its chains. It strikes on a gong which has a wonderful tone. This clock has a lasting quality and is typical of many high end Bracket clocks found in Victorian vicarages and rectories. The case is honey toned oak in colour and is in very good condition. The size of the case is 18 1/2 inch tall max .And its 14 1/2 inch to top of the case arch.and its 10 1/2 inch wide and 8 inch deep . There are two pillars at the front and is of the Gothic style so typical of that period. The back door and sides have fretted panels which help release the sound. There is no back door key but there is a winding key. The dial is silvered brass and has the name 'J. Truscott, Aberystwith' which may be a retailer? The dial has great Gothic numbers and markers while the original hands are beautifully shaped. The bezel is quality with thick bevelled glass and opens/closes very well. The movement strikes once on the half hour and twice at two etc with a rich deep tone. The movement is excellent quality and is still on its chains and has a pull repeat cord mechanism. This movement has retained its locking bar and screw for the pendulum. Overall this movement is generally clean and working but does stop occasionally so will need a full clean and service for it to work as it should. This is a delightful quality bracket clock which is nice and original and was always an expensive clock. Although working is does need a service so is sold as seen for restoration with no return.Postal costs refer to UK mainland addressesHappy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
