Seller: timerunner56 (1.046) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 293527046480 Nice 8 Day English Grandfather/Longcase Clock Movement & Hand Painted Dial Nice grandfather clock movement with 12in arched hand painted dial. It has its pulleys and a very good bell which rings well. The 12in x 17in arched dial has very nice hands (including seconds and calendar). The dial is in very nice condition and may have been restored at some point. The two bottom corners has beehives on tables while the top two depict country cottages. In the arch is the illustration of a castle or gatehouse with a boat on the sea in the distance. The dial is signed 'Skerman, Hertford'. One of the rings from the winding hole is missing. This 8 day movement I think dates from the 19th century and is dirty and a little rusty but is in good shape and has its gut. The false plate is signed 'W. Francis of Birmingham'. The back of the dial has some writing and appears that the clock has bee passed down a family over many generations with some dates around 1860. This lovely 8 day grandfather clock movement and dial is sold as seen for restoration/parts with no returns or guarantees. With a good clean and service it may run.
