Marvellous Heavy Antique Oriental Solid Silver Ashtray In Perfect Condition.
A superb Edwardian Ashtray from the Far East possibly Burmese area with various scenes depicting elephants, palm trees, oriental man and oriental thatched house.
A lovely ashtray in excellent condition. Please browse all 12 photographs for weight, size and condition. This item is a super work of a master silversmith of the highest order. It weights well over 100g and is beautifully polished and finished at the base with green natural felt.
Needs to be seen and handled to be fully appreciated. The pictures really do not do it justice. If you're looking for an antique oriental ashtray, you'd be hard pressed to find too many better. Lovely antique item over 100 years old.
The marking on the base says "Sterling Silver" which does suggest some British connection and possibly having been made in one of the British commonwealth, dependent or colonial territories.
