The work is signed to the lower right by the female French artist, Marie Amelie Chautard-Carreau (late 19th/ early 20th century) and it came from a large private collection of her work in the Sarthe region of France. We have no reserve auctions ending each week, always between 8-10pm (GMT): offering a wide range of paintings, typically including: Old Masters, marines, portraits, English and Continental landscapes, Scottish Highland landscapes and cattle, sporting art and traditional genre scenes. We also offer a selection of French Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Cubist and abstract paintings from the late 19th century through to contemporary. All our auctions start at 99p and have no reserve. Buying from us: Having dealt in paintings before the advent of eBay, we fully appreciate buying a painting online can be different than in person. Thus, we aim to mention everything known about a work and include detailed photographs of each area of the painting, including the back. You are very welcome to discuss any questions with us concerning a painting prior to bidding. You are of course also welcome to come and collect your purchase in person. We source our stock from auctions, private collectors and deal within the trade, both in the United Kingdom and Europe, having bases in Paris and Provence. We guarantee every painting listed. Restoration & Framing: We work with excellent oil painting and frame restorers. Please feel free to ask for more details and a quotation. We offer a full refund guarantee on all paintings : If we've got it wrong, we will be the first to admit it and put it right. If you return an item because we have described it incorrectly, we will naturally pay the shipping costs. Frames: Due to the fragile nature of old frames and frame glass, our shippers do not provide compensation for any damage caused during transit. Payment - We prefer Paypal - this is best for you the buyer as you are fully protected under their Buyer Protection policy.
