This finish may well be a later amateur attempt as there appears to be one or two spots of green pigment on top of the leather writing surface.The front of the box drops down to reveal a green leather hinged writing surface. Inside is a green stained oak fitted interior with compartments for papers above a drawer containing a pen tray. One of the compartments contains a green leather covered blotting pad which has been well used. The inside of the lid has a green leather covered panel with pen holders and a gilt registration number 'RD 173369'. The lacquer finish has a couple of minor knocks but overall is in good condition and there is no strike plate for the lock or key.Dimensions - Width 32cm, Depth 16cm, Height 26cm.
